Don't miss the opportunity to attend the AALAS District 6 Meeting in Chicago this year! We have a great meeting planned for you! Some of the highlights include a day and a half of seminars and exhibit hall, poster session, a keynote speaker each day, a cocktail reception, and a tour of the Peaceable Primate Sanctuary, a retirement sanctuary for former research baboons and macaques! Some of you may even see an old friend! The preliminary program can be found under the "D6" tab on the CBAALAS website.
The conference location is very conveniently located by lots of shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and O'Hare Airport, making flying in to the meeting a breeze. It is also a prime location to catch public transportation into the heart of Chicago. Join us for a great meeting on Thursday and Friday and then spend the weekend in the Windy City. Chicago has so much to offer. Check out the zoos, aquarium, museums, theatre, nightlife, the Willis Tower, and so much more! The possibilities are endless!
Attendee Registration Summary:
Full Meeting (Thursday and Friday): $145 per person ($170 after March 28, 2019) - Includes refreshments, lunch, cocktail reception on Thursday. Breakfast, refreshments on Friday.
Friday only: $85 per person ($110 after March 28, 2019) - Includes breakfast and refreshments.
Peaceable Primate Sanctuary Tour: $47 per person - Includes lunch and transportation to/from the sanctuary.
(Note: You can pay online with a credit card or mail a check. We do understand that it can take some time to get a check issued by your institution. If paying by check, please register online and then choose "invoice me". An email will be sent to you with the invoice which can be submitted to your institution to process for payment.)

Posters, Scientific Abstract Submissions, and SHELAC's: We have some time allotted in the program for scientific abstracts and SHELAC presentations (Short Helpful Exercises in Laboratory Animal Care). Time is limited so not all abstracts may be accepted. If you are interested in submitting an abstract or poster for consideration, submit the Abstract Submission Form by March 11, 2019. Hotel: Please note that the deadline for the discounted rate has passed. Rooms at the hotel are available directly through the hotel or travel websites at the regular room rate. Parking: Discounted parking is available onsite with validation: $6 daily, $12 overnight
Shuttle: The hotel shuttle is available to/from O'Hare airport 24 hours a day, running every 1/2 hour.
A technician fun fair will be part of our program this year! Enjoy the challenge and meet new people!
Peaceable Primate Sanctuary Tour: We are very excited to have the opportunity to visit the Peaceable Primate Sanctuary, a retirement sanctuary for baboons, this year! The tour will leave from the conference location on Friday at about 12pm after closing remarks. The fee to attend will cover lunch and transportation to and from the sanctuary. We will return to the conference location after the tour. Return time will be dependent on how long the tour takes at the sanctuary and traffic on return, but we anticipate late afternoon/early evening. Proceeds from the tour will be donated to the sanctuary.
