CBAALAS Send a Tech to National AALAS Award   

November 3-7, 2024 in Nashville, TN

Each year CBAALAS sends a technician to the National AALAS meeting.  This award is for technicians that have not yet had the opportunity to attend a national meeting, and includes airfare, hotel accommodations, meeting registration (including one workshop), and a stipend for miscellaneous expenses (e.g. meals).  After attending, the award winner will give a short presentation (10-15 min) at a CBAALAS general membership meeting about their experience at the national meeting to promote the award to future candidates.

GLAS GRANTS

The AALAS Grants for Laboratory Animal Science (GLAS) program promotes the enhancement of scientific knowledge in laboratory animal science (LAS) through research. Examples of research interest are: environmental conditions; housing and enrichment; pain and distress; health and welfare; euthanasia; advancements in animal care and use, and other refinement research. Funding is not intended to support development of commercial products or services.

LabDiet ANIMAL TECHNICIAN AWARD

Nominee's will be considered based on:

  • Professional experience
  • Display 10 years or more experience in the Lab Animal field
  • AALAS Certification is desires - RLATG or CMAR level
  • Animal care activities (at the national, state and local levels - especially related to AALAS and the greater lab animal community)
  • List of published works
  • List of presentations and awards
  • Contributions to the advancement of all aspects of the animal technician field

ANIMAL WELFARE INSTITUTE (AWI) REFINEMENT RESEARCH AWARD

AWI offers awards of up to US$15,000 to develop and test innovative methods of refinement to the care, husbandry, or housing of animals in research to improve their welfare.

AVMA ANIMAL WELFARE AWARD

The AVMA Animal Welfare Award recognizes an AVMA member veterinarian in recognition of his/her achievement in advancing the welfare of animals via leadership, public service, education, research/product development, and/or advocacy.
